How to Disable Laptop Keyboard Using Third-Party Software
There are many different programs to disable the keyboard, so I’m not going to list them all, but I’ll talk about Toddler Keys. If you wish, you can enter “Programs for disconnecting the laptop keyboard” in the search engine and see other options.
So, download Toddler Keys and install it. After installation, run the program from the control panel. The icon will be indicated by the black letters “TK”.
Click on the icon with the right mouse button and select the “Lock Keyboard” item/option from the drop-down menu. After that, the keyboard should stop responding to pressing.
Also, you need to do a couple of actions: uncheck the Disable Power Button and Lock Drive Doors items. For those who do not understand those terms, I explain, these two parameters block the on/off button of the laptop and the drive.
To re-enable the keyboard, you need to uncheck the corresponding box in this program, that is, from the “Lock Keyboard”.

Disconnecting the Keyboard Physically
In case you are not comfortable with the options given to you earlier on how to disable laptop keyboard when external plugged in Windows 10, disabling it using a command line and disabling it using third-party software. I think disconnecting the keyboard physically is the next option.
The built-in laptop keyboard is usually fixed to the motherboard with ribbon cables. So, if you intend to disable it at this stage, then you should make up your mind to disassemble the laptop.
Each device has its structure which implies that its loop will be in different places.
Firstly, you will be required to remove the back cover, examine it carefully, and try to identify its pattern.
If you cannot find it, you should download the circuit on the Internet or the manufacturer’s official website.
Ensure you work carefully, as even a small scratch or damage on the motherboard can harm the performance of the laptop as a whole.
Since in the future you will be required to connect it back, you are advised to remember where the loop connector is connected.
However, for convenience, you can take a snapshot with your digital camera or phone.
If the disconnection is successful, don’t forget to reassemble the laptop in reverse order. You can entrust such work to a specialist like a computer engineer.
